Self-Education and Consulting Centers
Project Goal
We will ensure that the language classrooms are supplied with self-study and methodological materials in order that they can serve as supervised self-study and consulting centers for the students outside of teaching hours. Once monthly, they will be available to teachers from other schools participating in the project and other schools from the region (foreign lecturers).
Implementation November 2006-June 2008
The required hardware, software, and furniture were delivered to the language classrooms at the end of May. After a period of trial operation, 19 lecturers were trained on the SmartClass Symposium system. The self-education and consulting centers have been in operation since September 10, 2007. Mrs. Pammer is available to students of German every Tuesday from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Mr. Moore is available to those studying English on Wednesdays from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Numerous magazines, textbooks, dictionaries, study aides, methodological materials are all available, as well as sixteen computers with an internet connection and a multifunctional printer/copier/scanner. The first week of every month is designated for teachers from upper elementary schools, academic high schools, and other secondary schools.
